Mandated Reporter Self-Directed Online Training

NYSED confirms OCFS offers the required training free. All New York mandated reporters must complete the updated 3-hour version by 11/17/2026.

Heads up: If you completed the OCFS training between 11/1/2022 and 8/31/2025 you must also take a short addendum on children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The old 2-hour version closed 8/31/2025.

Iowa HHS training is the ONLY approved mandatory reporter course in Iowa. A separate 2-hour Dependent Adult Abuse course (DS 168) covers the adult requirement.

Heads up: Third-party Iowa 'mandatory reporter' courses are not valid — all prior approvals were voided after June 30, 2019.
